Trapeze Kendama Trick

In this post we are going to be learning the trick known as Trapeze. In order to do this trick, you are going to hold the ken in a modified sara grip with the big cup facing out and the spike pointing downwards.

You are going to take your non dominant hand and stick your index finger out. Swing the tama over your index finger. Land it over the big cup.

You want to keep your arms a little bit tighter than shoulder width. You are going to have to swing the tama to the height or a little bit higher than your non dominant hand. As you are doing this, you want to let go of the handle, which will allow you to catch the tama as it rotates around. You will see that it actually rotates the ken so that the big cup is facing you. It is a lot easier if you do this whole motion in one solid motion.

That way you never have to cross your hands and it makes the whole trick a little bit easier. From here, you can really do a lot of stuff out of it. If you want to combo into another trick like Lighthouse or Lunar. The easiest way to do it is just to simply do an Airplane motion and land the spike into the hole of the tama. And that is how you do Trapeze.
